The North Esk has to be one of the best producing salmon rivers in Scotland with Pert being one of the most sought after beats in the land. The booking diary is pretty much full and closed every season so we are very lucky to be able to offer the opportunity to fish such a remarkable fishery as this.

The most famous pool on the upper beat has to be the Boat Pool producing fish every month of the season, a pool where anglers are left in awe from the volume of fish seen on many days. The upper beat has some wonderful fly water throughout which is easily fished with a 12 or 13ft rod accompanied with a scandi style line. Spinning is also permitted on the beat and a copper salmo with a orange and yellow stripe painted along the side is a sure favourite during the spring months. The beat also offers some fantastic sea trout fishing through May, June and July and the best set up for this is a 10ft 7# rod. When the water warms up and drops during the summer months a single handed rod is adequate with a full floating line, a stripped sunray on a long leader can produce some heart stopping moments.

Anglers are advised to use the appropriate PPE while fishing – life jacket, eye protection, skipped hat and wading stick.
